Borne out of Imperial College in London, UK in 2001, Ceres Powers’ technology was the invention of lithium battery and fuel cell pioneer, Professor Brian Steele.
He believed the ceramic solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) at that time were too fragile and too expensive, so worked to develop a cheaper and more robust power generation solution – the SteelCell.
The team at Ceres has been perfecting this unique technology for nearly 20 years, establishing a global leadership position in fuel cells and electrochemistry expertise.
